McCaskill for Missouri 2012

Thursday, June 28, 2012

Amia Warren is an intern in the Cape Girardeau office. She is part of our statewide grass-roots effort to contact voters and to ultimately turn out the vote we need on Nov. 6th to re-elect our Democratic candidates.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

Amia: I am a senior at Southeast Missouri State University majoring in Public Relations and English with a minor in Social Work.

What first got you interested in politics?

Amia: I want to ensure that the right person will represent the voice of the people.

Why did you choose to volunteer for Claire?

Amia: I love what Claire is fighting for. As a student, I think it is very important to have access to student loans when financial aid and income isn’t enough to cover tuition fees. Another thing is Social Security. My grandmother and others have worked hard for Social Security. Many are not in the proper health to volunteer, so I perform the duties on their behalf.

What issue is most important to you in this campaign?

Amia: Ensuring that residents know exactly who and what they are voting for.

What has been your favorite part about volunteering for Claire?

Amia: Informing individuals about the wonderful things that Claire has done and how vital it is to elect her to the U.S. Senate again.
