Our voice
Thursday, May 17, 2012
The following email was sent out to our supporters today, and we wanted to share it with you:

It's a little quiet around here today.
Between fighting on the floor of the Senate, riling up the troops back home, and making endless calls to rally support, Claire has already lost her voice — and it's only May.
I'm not kidding either — her doctor has ordered her not to talk for two days. We're all placing our bets on whether she'll be able to make it.
But while this is a temporary medical issue, it comes at a time when we're fighting a much more threatening issue that affects us all — the special interests flooding Missouri with secret donations. If we let them dominate this election, we could all lose our voices in the American political system permanently.
I've known Claire for a long time, and not talking for two days won't be easy for her.
When she sees an injustice — whether it's corrupt contractors misspending our tax dollars in Afghanistan or veterans not receiving the benefits they deserve — Claire finds a way to speak out.
But, she can't speak out alone. We need to speak out together. Contribute $5 today and help us strengthen our grassroots donor army:

If we can act as Claire's voice for the next 48 hours, I think she'll be more likely to rest her vocal cords. And we'll all be more likely to end up with a senator in Washington who speaks for us instead of Karl Rove.
Thank you for standing with us,
